Update your red Econowaste bin to an EcoPay bin online through MyAccount and prepay for your first empty.

Continue using your bin as normal. Our team will visit your property to update your bin to an EcoPay bin.

Put your bin out

When ready, put your bin out for collection on your regular Auckland Council/Econowaste collection day.

EcoPay charges your card

Our smart EcoPay system detects the bin has been emptied and your debit/credit card is charged, ready for the next empty.

Your EcoPay wheelie bin is intended for most household general waste. However, please note that the following items should not be placed in the bin:

  • Concrete
  • Dead animals
  • Dirt or sand
  • Hazardous or flammable materials
  • Hot ashes
  • Liquids
  • Steel
  • Stones
  • Wood

To ensure the appropriate use of the bin, kindly refrain from disposing of these restricted items. Should you have inquiries about specific materials, feel free to contact us for further guidance.

Just place your bin out on collection day and when our truck empties your bin, your nominated credit/debit card is charged through our online payment system.

To ensure timely collection, kindly position your bin by the kerbside no later than 7:00 am on the scheduled collection day.
