EcoPay is Econowaste's pay-per-empty smart waste solution that gives you the flexibility to have extra rubbish collected at any time when you have more rubbish than usual.
With no ongoing costs, you only pay when you put your Econowaste EcoPay bin out to be collected.
It's super easy, you simply put your bin out the same day your Auckland Council rubbish bin is collected and our online payment system charges your nominated credit/debit card – no booking required!
EcoPay wheelie bins are available in three different sizes 80L, 120L, and 240L.
How does EcoPay work?
- Set up your existing Econowaste wheelie bin as an EcoPay bin (get in touch with us on 0800 499 246 or auckland@econowaste.co.nz)
- Use your Econowaste wheelie bin as per normal
- Once you're ready for the bin to be collected, put it out on your Auckland Council rubbish collection day
- When the Econowaste truck empties your bin, your credit/debit card will be automatically charged.

What time should I have my bin out?
To ensure timely collection, kindly position your bin by the kerbside no later than 7:00 am on the scheduled collection day.
Many of our customers find it convenient to place their wheelie bins out the night before, which is a great advantage of a wheelie bin as pests cannot get into the rubbish.
